Pediatrics Nurse Practitioner Needed in Greensboro, NC

• Avg. Daily Census: Average patient census last year during winter is 16-22; expect this to grow this coming winter with the addition of 6 pediatric beds for a total of 28 (22 total PICU and pediatric beds last season) on neighboring unit to avoid transferring patients out to other institutions.
• Patient Age Group: Age 0 - 18; many patients have medical complexity (G-tubes, trachs). Large refugee and immigrant population with excellent in-person interpreter support. PICU patients are generally lower acuity than in tertiary centers (asthmatics, bronchiolitis on HFNC, DKA, seizures).
• Procedures: none
Department Description: 22 bed Inpatient pediatric ward and 4 bed PICU with 2 intermediate beds (28 total). Experienced nursing staff. All patients supervised by pediatric hospitalist attendings or board-certified PICU attendings. University of North Carolina residents staff both peds and picu 24/7. This position is to support a second team during the daytime when winter patient volume exceeds the resident cap.
Requirements:
• Board Certifications Req’d/Preferred: PNP
• State License(s): NC, yes if IMLC in hand
• Certifications: BLS, PALS, DEA
• Years of Experience 2 – does not have to have ICU/CC experience
• Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90
