• Schedule: We are looking for a provider that can work 12-hr days and nights, flexibility to do both. We do have 24s but try to only have 1-2 24s on at a time so there are not always available.
• Work Details:
o Amount of coverage needed per month: 2.7 full time providers.
o Patients per day varies.
o Patient population/age: Infants
o Department description: Level 4 NICU
o What are the # of NPs on each day shift and each night shift? Our goal is 8 providers on day shift and 3 providers on nights. We do have pediatric residents; therefore the goal number of APPs can fluctuate depending on the number of residents.
o Is there any support at night? Yes, the Neonatology fellow is in-house. The Neonatologist takes call from home and will come in if needed.
o Is this delivery coverage or just surgical coverage? We have a busy in-house delivery service. We are the tertiary care center for Central Virginia for expected extremely premature births, expected critically ill at birth infants, and all cardiac anomalies.
o EMR: EPIC
o Special procedures: ECMO required.
o Skills required: ECMO, Lumbar punctures, intubation, umbilical lines, chest tube insertions, arterial lines, vent management.
• Practice Setting:
o Hospital
• Requirements:
o Board Certification: Required
o State license required: VA.
o Certifications required: BLS, PALS, (must be AHA certified)
o Minimum experience required: 2 years.
• Credentialing Timeframe: 60 days
