About the clinician's workday

The position offers a schedule of 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM, with a typical hospital census of 35 to 40 patients, excluding the 10 to 12 patients in the psych unit under the medical team's care. No procedures are expected, as intubations and similar interventions are handled by ER or critical care providers, while PICC line and midline placements are completed before midnight. The ICU is an open format, supported by a dedicated critical care team. Codes and rapid response team (RRT) calls are managed by a team that includes an ER physician, house supervisor, and other staff, although hospitalists attend most codes as they primarily involve their patients. Nightly admissions typically range from 4 to 6, and documentation will be managed using the Epic EMR system.
