We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant for a locum tenens position in Pennsylvania, with a preference for local candidates. The role involves providing care in an emergency department, with shifts typically seeing 1-2 patients per hour. You'll work alongside a team of MDs who are present on shifts during the night, supported by a trauma service available 24/7. Specialties such as Neurology, Cardiology, Orthopedics, and more are on call. The position also includes coverage at UPMC Bedford. Your responsibilities will include seeing patients, performing minor procedures like laceration repairs and I&Ds, and handling some administrative tasks like radiology and blood work review. PAs are expected to manage a broad range of patient complaints but are not required to perform invasive procedures, with critically ill patients typically seen by attending physicians.
Requirements:
Board Certification: Required
State License: PA license required
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPR, PALS (must be through AHA or Red Cross)
Additional Requirement: Stroke Certification required; DEA required
