Anesthesiology

Contract Length: 6 months with option to extend
Shift Details:
• Days: 8-hour shifts, 32-40 hours per week
• Options: 4x8s or 5x8s
• Availability: Open to candidates with at least 2 weeks of availability per month
• Schedule: Monday to Friday (Weekends are not required but available if the candidate is interested)
Work Details:
• Support Staff:
o Day: 2-3 Anesthesia Techs
o Night: 1-2 Anesthesia Techs
• Coverage Needed: 20+ shifts per month
• Patient Volume (Varies by Room):
o Endoscopy: 10-16 patients/day
o Vascular: 2-3 patients/day
o Ortho Joints: 3-4 patients/day
o Spine: 1-3 patients/day
o General Surgery: 8-10 patients/day
o GYN: 2-5 patients/day
• Patient Population:
o Ranges from pediatric (as young as 6 months) to geriatric (100+ years)
o Pediatric cases mainly for dental, ENT, MRI, Urology, and Ortho
o Bariatrics, OB/GYN (200+ deliveries/month), general surgery, vascular surgery, and 2 endoscopy rooms
o ASA 1 to ASA 4 cases
o Approximately 5 organ procurement cases per year
Department Description:
• 12 main ORs, 2 endoscopy suites, and a separate C-section room in the Women’s Pavilion
• Anesthesia also covers procedures outside the OR (MRI, lithotripsy, ED, Cath/CT/EP/IR)
• EMR: Meditech (hospital system), Talis (Anesthesia Information Management System - AIMS)
• Hospital Bed Size: 258 beds
• Special Procedures:
o Cardiac: EP ablations, cardioversions, TEE
Practice Setting:
• Hospital
Requirements:
• Licensure: NC preferred or Compact State license
• Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS
• Minimum Experience: 1 year of experience
• Credentialing Timeframe: 90 days
