A corrections facility is seeking a family advanced practitioner for locum tenens coverage. Credentialing takes about 1 week.
The facility is located less than an hour from Anchorage, AK.
This is a correctional medicine position available from May 12th for three months, with the potential to extend. The schedule follows a 7-on/7-off rotation with 10-hour shifts, covering Monday through Sunday, with no call required. The provider will manage 8-12 patients per shift, along with reviewing outside medical records and labs, treating an all-adult patient population. Candidates must have an AK license, DEA, and a clear background check. Bread-and-butter procedures are required, and the provider will work alongside one MD with strong support from NPs, nursing staff, and nurse supervisors. Credentialing is fast, taking approximately one week. The position is open to FM, IM, and GP providers, with no COVID vaccine requirement, and personality fit is prioritized over experience.
