A correctional facility is seeking a family medicine DNP for locum tenens coverage.
The facility is located less than an hour from Seattle, Washington.
This corrections practice offers a Monday through Friday schedule with four 10-hour shifts from 7 AM to 5 PM. The role requires certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, along with a BLS, a Washington state license, and DEA certification. Board Eligibility or Certification is required, with no General Practitioners. The EMR system is paper-based, and credentialing takes between 1 to 7 days. The position involves working in an all-male prison, providing care for a range of conditions including injury, acute illness, follow-ups, physicals, and complex chronic care. Minor procedures such as toenail removal, small joint injections, and I&Ds are also required. The provider must be comfortable treating patients with hormone therapy, following DOC protocols for the transgender population when necessary.
